A hidden investment gem for international investors – Republika Srpska on the rise
ÖSW

At a time of global uncertainty and growing demand for stable, investor-friendly markets, Republika Srpska is positioning itself as one of the most promising and at the same time least developed investment destinations in South-Eastern Europe.
During a high-level delegation visit organised by the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum (OSW) in cooperation with the Representation of Republika Srpska in Vienna, fifteen of the most successful Austrian entrepreneurs of Serbian origin visited the capital, Banja Luka. The host of this meeting was the President of Republika Srpska, Mr Milorad Dodik, who convened an exclusive session in the city hall of Banja Luka to present the economic potential of the region.
The discussions focused on the exceptionally favourable investment conditions: corporate taxation of only 10 %, a stable economic framework, the lowest electricity prices in the region and a comprehensive system of subsidies and support programmes for investors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and abroad.
Mag. Mladen Filipović, representative of the Serbian Association in Austria and of the Representation of Republika Srpska in Vienna, stressed the strategic importance of economic cooperation with the diaspora and emphasised that numerous international companies are already operating successfully in Republika Srpska.
The Serbian Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Mr Marko Blagojević, who also took part in the meeting, underlined Serbia’s role in promoting economic relations with Republika Srpska and acknowledged the importance of the Serbian diaspora as a builder of bridges between markets and cultures.
Republika Srpska presents itself as a market with untapped potential, attractive economic conditions and a clear political willingness to cooperate with international partners. For investors looking for new, dynamic and sustainable opportunities it is without doubt a hidden gem – ready to be discovered.
