The trades are the area in which the Austrian-Serbian economic relationship has been lived out longest and most directly — through businesses, families and skilled workers at home in both countries.
What it is about
For small and medium-sized businesses the questions arise differently than they do for large groups. They concern the rules on posting workers, the recognition of qualifications, trade licences, handling contracts across the border and finding reliable partner firms in the other country.
These questions are rarely spectacular, but they decide whether a contract comes about or not.
What the sector does
It brings together businesses that need one another as partners, suppliers or subcontractors. It pools practical knowledge on the posting of workers, licensing and the recognition of qualifications. And it gives smaller members a voice that on their own they would hardly have.
