What it is about

An Austrian company investing in Serbia — or the other way round — operates between two financial systems with different supervisory regimes, currencies and market practices. Questions that are routine in the home market become projects in the neighbouring one: how is a subsidiary capitalised? What collateral will a local bank accept? How can a currency risk be hedged over several years? Which export credit instruments are available?

The sector brings together banks, insurers, financing advisers and companies that have to answer these questions in practice, not in theory.
