The protection of your personal data matters to us. This statement explains which data are processed when you visit this website and when you use our forms.

Principle of data minimisation
This website is deliberately built to collect as little data as possible. It uses no analytics tools, no tracking services and no advertising cookies. No profiles of your behaviour are created. The only external service is the map on the contact page, and it is loaded only after your explicit consent.
Fonts
The fonts used are served directly from this server. There is no connection to external font services such as Google Fonts, so no data is transmitted to third parties when this website is displayed.
Map on the contact page (Google Maps)
On the contact page we can show our location as a Google Maps map. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The map is loaded only if you give your explicit consent. As long as no consent has been given, only our address appears at this point; no connection to Google is established. If you consent, your browser transmits to Google, in particular, your IP address and details of your device and browser when the map loads. Google may set cookies and process the data in the USA; the transfer is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future — throughat the bottom of every page. Alternatively, we will continue to open the map service in a separate window when you click.

Your consent and how it is stored
We record your decision on external content in your browser's local storage (key oesw-einwilligung), not in a cookie. Only the permitted categories, the time and a version number are stored. This information does not leave your device and is not read by us. It remains in place until you change it or delete the website data in your browser. If the categories change, we ask again.
Server log data
When this website is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data (such as IP address, time of access, page accessed and browser type). The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure and stable operation under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Contact forms and membership applications
If you contact us through a form or submit a membership application, we process the data you provide in order to deal with your request. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, or the steps taken prior to entering into a contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
These messages are sent to our association office viaBrevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France) as processor. The servers are located in the European Union; no transfer to a third country takes place. Brevo processes the data solely for sending the messages and not for its own purposes.
The information is kept in our mailbox for as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry and is then deleted — unless a statutory retention obligation applies, for example where a membership has come into effect.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we pass your email address on to our association office in the same way. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time by sending us a short message to office@oesw.org .
Membership administration
To administer membership we process the data given in the membership application. The legal basis is the performance of the membership relationship under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and compliance with obligations under association and tax law under Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Your rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
- Access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent already given, with effect for the future

Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Datenschutzbehörde (Austrian data protection authority) if you consider that the processing of your data infringes the GDPR.
