Movement of goods, distribution and market access between Austria and Serbia

Trade is the oldest form of economic connection between two regions — and still the one from which the actual closeness of a relationship can be read most quickly.

What it is about

Anyone wanting to bring goods into the other market needs three things: a dependable distribution partner, clarity on customs and origin questions, and a realistic picture of how trade is structured locally. Serbia is not an EU member — that shapes the movement of goods, customs handling and the drafting of contracts.

For Serbian companies, in turn, Austria is often the first step into the EU single market, with correspondingly high requirements for standards, labelling and the ability to deliver.

What the sector does

It arranges trading partnerships, puts regulatory requirements into context and creates occasions on which suppliers and buyers meet in person — the basis of every trading transaction.

Who it is relevant for

For wholesalers and retailers, importers and exporters, distribution and sales agencies, and manufacturers intending to widen their market.
