Law and public affairs
Legal certainty, contract drafting and access to institutions
Legal certainty is the quiet precondition of every investment decision. No one notices it as long as it is there — and it decides everything as soon as it is missing.
What it is about
Austria and Serbia have different legal systems, different procedural timeframes and different administrative cultures. What is a formality in one market can be a procedure lasting several months in the other. Anyone setting up a subsidiary, concluding a supply contract or acquiring a shareholding has to know both sides.
Then there is the public affairs dimension: access to the right offices in administration and politics is not automatic in either country, but a matter of contacts and of being able to connect.
What the sector does
It pools legal expertise on both legal systems, puts legislative changes into context and establishes the connection to the institutions that members deal with — chambers, ministries and diplomatic missions.
Who it is relevant for
For law firms, tax advisers and auditors, compliance and legal departments, and for every member setting up a structure in the other market.
