The delegation of the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum in Belgrade

At a meeting in Belgrade with the Head of the Representation Office of the Republika Srpska in Serbia, Mlađen Cicović, the delegation of the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum agreed to step up the activities for connecting business people from the Republika Srpska and Serbia with companies from Austria.

At the meeting it was pointed out that the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum offers new companies and new members support in establishing contacts and business opportunities as well as in networking, to which the Representation Office of the Republika Srpska in Serbia can contribute.

Cicović announced that, following this meeting, the Representation Office of the Republika Srpska in Serbia would devote its full capacity to promoting the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum in Serbia. “We will work intensively on organising events and meetings between business people themselves, as well as between business people from Austria and the Republika Srpska and institutions in Serbia and Austria” – said Cicović.

The Vice-President of the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum, Mladen Filipović, who is also Head of the Representation Office of the Republika Srpska in Austria, assessed that today’s talks would make a substantial contribution to future projects. “This is about creating a platform and representing the interests not only of the entrepreneurs in Austria, but also of our export-oriented companies from Serbia and the Republika Srpska. On the other hand, it will also be a support for investors, as Austria is one of the largest investors in the territory of the former Yugoslavia and in particular in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska” – said Filipović.

Filipović pointed out that the Forum can play a major role in lobbying, as there are more than 3,000 people of Serbian origin in the area of the city of Vienna who run independent companies and who can contribute to the development of cooperation between business people. These figures show that our people in Austria are economically visible.

In Belgrade the delegation of the Austrian Serbian Economic Forum also met representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, where the strong role of the chamber of commerce in cooperation between companies in Serbia and Austria was emphasised. During the talks the future steps for further strengthening the positive developments in this cooperation were determined.
