What we stand for
What we want to achieve and the principles we work by.
Austria and Serbia have had close economic ties for decades. Many people with Serbian roots live in Austria, and in Vienna alone more than 3,000 of them run their own business. Even so, many companies lack a direct line to partners on the other side.
Our mission
The ÖSWF provides that line. We bring together companies, investors and decision-makers from Austria, Serbia and Republika Srpska so that first contacts can turn into business relationships.
To do this we rely on recurring formats: forums, business breakfasts, networking evenings and delegation visits. Those who take part regularly meet the same people more often, and a first conversation turns into a collaboration.
Our objectives
Four tasks
Connecting business
We bring companies, investors and business leaders from both economic areas to the same table, at our events and in personal conversation.
Opening markets
We support companies entering the other market and shorten the route to the right contacts, authorities and partners.
Strengthening relations
We strengthen bilateral economic relations for the long term, across economic cycles and political terms of office.
Creating visibility
We take our members’ concerns to where they are heard: to business, public administration and politics in both countries.

Independence
The ÖSWF is non-partisan and not beholden to any single company. Competitors sit at the same table with us.
Reliability
When we arrange a contact, we follow up until it is clear whether it will lead to a working relationship.
Confidentiality
What members tell us about their plans, we treat in confidence.
Reciprocity
We support Austrian companies in Serbia and Republika Srpska just as we support companies from the region in Austria.
A long-term view
We work for the long term, regardless of economic cycles and changes of government.
Objectivity
We talk about markets as they are, with their opportunities and their difficulties.
